This week, a collaborative Workshop of the Research Group ‘Movement, Culture and Society’ & Husserl Archives Cologne took place at the University of Southern Denmark. It was a pleasure to give a talk on cultural memory and urban formation, and to take part in an insightful discussion about phenomenological perspectives on wellbeing, ageing, movement, music and the environment. Disciplines such as phenomenology, anthropology, and urban morphology highlight the central role of movement and environment in shaping experience. This one-day workshop fostered an interdisciplinary dialogue among researchers from a variety of fields, including philosophy, cognitive sciences, health, anthropology, and architecture. These researchers had the opportunity to share both theoretical and empirical work that investigates human experience at the nexus of embodiment, movement, and environment.
